Mezé Mozzarella Sticks

Indulge in the crispy and cheesy goodness of our Mezé Mozzarella Sticks, a classic appetiser that features sticks of premium mozzarella cheese coated in a seasoned breading and fried to golden perfection, offering a mouthwatering experience that’s perfect for dipping and sharing.

    Ingredients

    • 3 tbsp Flour
    • 2 Eggs
    • 1 tbsp Water
    • 1 cup Dry Bread Crumbs
    • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
    • 12 sticks Mezé Fingers/Bocconcini
    • Oil for deep frying or 2 tbsp
    • Melted butter if baking

    Preparing the spices

    Place flour in a shallow bowl.

    In another shallow bowl, beat eggs and water.

    In a third shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, garlic powder and pepper.

    Coat cheese sticks with flour, then dip in egg mixture and coat with bread crumb mixture.

    Repeat egg and bread crumb coatings. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.

    Place on an ungreased baking sheet; drizzle with butter.

    Bake, uncovered, at 1800 C for 6-8 minutes or until heated through.

    Allow to stand for 3-5 minutes before serving. Serve with tomato chutney for dipping.
