    Ingredients

    • 200g Mezé Feta Cheese block (not crumbled – in a rectangular block for best results)
    • Mezé Kataifi Pastry – about 100g, thawed
    • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
    • 2-3 tbsp Water (for brushing)
    • 1 tbsp Honey (for drizzling) is
    • Sesame Seeds (optional, for garnish – black ones add a nice splash of colour )
    • Mezé Olive Oil for frying
    • Lemon Wedges (to serve)

    Directions

    1

Pat the Mezé Feta dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

    2

Gently break the Mezé Kataifi Pastry into smaller bits so it’s easy to use as a crumb for the cheese.

    3

Add chilli flakes and sesame seeds or any dry herbs you wish to use and mix into the kataifi bits.

    4

Dip the feta in the beaten egg mixture and then place it into the kataifi crumb mixture, ensuring all sides are nicely covered with the crumb. (Alternatively, you can also lie the katiafi flat and roll the feta in the pastry)

    5

Heat Mezé Olive Oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.

    6

Once hot, gently place the crumbed feta in the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

    7

Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

    8

Drizzle with honey and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges on the side.
